Welcome to the Rosehearty Newsletter

Hi All, The dark nights are looming in fast and it is
nearly Bonfire night again!
The Rizarty Youthy will again be making a guy for
the Bonfire this year. It is hoped that it can be
presented to the Bonfire just before it gets lit on
Saturday 8th November 2008 at the caravan park.
The present Rosehearty Bonfire Committee will be
standing down after this years' display, as such, new committee members will be required to ensure
this most valued event continues.
As everyone will agree, the bonfire and fireworks
display is one of the most attended displays in the
area. It benefits the pensioners who live in the
village and surrounding country areas whilst
providing great entertainment for adults and
children alike.
If you are interested in being part of the committee
please contact either Dawn Duncan on 571178 or
Barbara Stevenson on 571150

If you want anything included in the next newsletter
please have it to me by 9th January 2009.
If you need help with putting in an article I will do all I can to help.

Fordyce Street Hall
The hall redecoration has started and there is also a new hall caretaker. The Hall caretaker is now Mrs Rosie Dunbar. Due to the wrong paint being supplied, the painting has been rescheduled. This will have no effect on the groups who use the hall as it is proposed to do it in the October holidays or over a weekend. Rosie has started the painting and it is looking more inviting already. The hall is still available to local groups and the public for parties etc, at the moment it is used every evening apart from the weekend and is available some days through the week and the weekend. If you would like to enquire about booking the hall for a group, party or meeting please contact Rosie Dunbar, 18 Murison Drive, Tel. 571771.

The next Hall Committee meeting will be held in the Fordyce Street
Hall on Tuesday 11th November at 7.30pm.
Anyone interested in coming along will be made very welcome.
The Community Hall is the hub of the community and well used, it is
hoped it won't be long until it looks a more inviting place and maybe
some new groups or events held in the hall.
For more information on the Hall Committee please contact Elly on
571112.

RIZARTY YOUTHY

The Rizarty Youthy will return after the October holidays on 31st October
2008. Due to the problems with the painting of the Hall it has been late in
starting, next year it will start in September.
The first night is to be a special Halloween themed night with the youth
coming in Fancy Dress, there will be a small cash prize for the best costume.
They will also be making the Guy for the Bonfire on the 8th November. There
will be ducking for apples and pumpkin making.
The youth group relies on mums, dads and residents of the village to run and
due to unforeseen circumstances has lost a few of it volunteers. Therefore I
am appealing for more volunteers to come forward to help in this very
important project. The children are a lot safer indoors in the cold, dark nights
and they enjoy their Friday nights, but without the volunteers the club cannot
run.
All that is required is 2 hours on a Friday evening once a month. If there are
more volunteers it can work out maybe once every 6 weeks.
I do hope some will come forward and offer their time to help keep this club
going. If you need more information contact: Elly Morrice on Tel. 571112

ROSEHEARTY COMMUNITY BOAT CLUB  THE YOLE

The Club had a very successful Open Day on 30th August 2008, with a barbecue, raffle, bottle stall, home bakes, brie a brae and a bouncy castle. The 'Pride of Rosehearty', a zulu sail boat built by the club was on display along with the ex Naval motor boat on which repairs are nearing completion.

Excellent weather coupled with a lot of hard work by club members and others, who helped with home bakes and donations to the various stalls, combined to make the event enjoyable to all those who attended.

The club would like to express their thanks to all those who helped both on the day and throughout the year.

Anyone who missed the Open Day and wishes to come and see the activities and progress of the club at the Red Kirkie will be made very welcome. The kirkie is opposite the Macintosh Butchers and Kuttin Comer Hairdresser shop. It does not look like a kirk, it is a very big shed! It used to be red at the front but the weather has took it's toll on the building and it no longer looks red. Due to newcomers to the Village I thought I would point this out as It is not easy to spot! There is someone there on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday afternoon Contact Ian Downie on 571292 for more information
