MINUTES of MEETING held in the Fordyce Street Hall on 1st October 2009

Present:
Therine Henderson, Anne Marr, Wendy Harper, Terry Buckel, and Marjory Rennie.
Councillor S. Mair was also present.

Apologies:
Apologies for absence were received from June Whyte, Dee Collins

Approval of Minutes:
Minutes of previous meeting were approved by Anne Marr and seconded by Terry Buckel .

Port Rae:
Raised at Area Committee.
£10,000 to be spent on assessment. Erosion shows little change.

Roads:
Cllr. Mair recommended writing to Roads Department
commenting on the improvements.

Police Business:
Steve Benedetti and David Crowther Present.
Apologised for previous absence.
Incidents regarding Rifles are being investigated.
Marjory Rennie reported the theft of a drill of potatoes.
There had been reports of vandalism (1) youth call (1)
All complaints to go through the call centre.
Taking youths to the Police Station might act as a deterrent ?
Discos are held in Fraserburgh at D.J's free of charge for young people. Police presence.

Planning:
The local shop have reported fitting of shutters.
Councillor Mair suggested that if we support something, there is no harm done by sending a letter.
The New road name suggested for the development at Castle Park is Blairmore.

Discussion with Football and Golf Clubs:
In attendance: Robert Beedie, John Coyle, Alan Downie, Robbie Wood (Robertson)
Alex Bain (Aberdeenshire Council.
Quality not unplayable. As possibly when first laid.
Robert Beedie the School Janitor monitors the grounds.
The Gala was spoiled by the quality of the surface.
Frequency of cutting a major issue.
The position of the school had been moved so the dimensions of the field are smaller.
It was claimed that the park has 3 different lengths. Adverse comments during the season from other teams. Referees have commented on the size of the park.
There is a manhole at the corner of the field - care must be taken to avoid creating a new complication
because of the gradient.
The length 79 metres by 46 metres.
Check Aberdeenshire letting rates. Look at pitch and cutting of grass. Get a full report.
Robertsons to liaise with the football committee.
It will be a shame if the efforts within the club do not help keep the youth on the right track.
