MINUTES of MEETING held in the Fordyce Street Hall on 2nd October 2008.

Present:
June Whyte, Therine Henderson, Anne Marr, Wendy Harper, Graham Collie, Terry Buckel, and Marjory Rennie.
Councillor R Watson, Councillor John Duncan, Councillor Sydney Mair and PC Arnott of Fraserburgh Police were also present

Apologies:
There were no apologies for absence received.

Approval of Minutes:
Minutes of previous meeting were approved by Graham Collie and seconded by Marjory Rennie with the exception of Item "Road Closures" which stated that repairs had now been completed. This was not the case as several roads were still under repair. Also Item "Planning Gain" where Therine suggested the money be used for improvements at the Castle but she said she was quite willing to waive her suggestion if a more worthy suggestion was put forward.

Police Business:
No crime of any note had been reported since the last meeting.
A Community Warden had had a look around the village. Some youths with bicycles had been seen on the roof of the old Library. A badly parked car on the roadside opposite Barnyards had been causing problems to traffic coming up the hill or down from the old Church.

Proposed New Houses:
Planning permission was granted for the building of the new houses at the Area Committee meeting.

Street Name:
Several suggestions were put forward and after discussion it was decided that Pilsligo Drive would be a suitable name for the new street.

Recycling Point:
New lined bins had been supplied so that the noise of rubbish being damped and collected would be kept as reasonable as possible.

Bonfire Fund:
It was decided to give a donation of One hundred pounds to the bonfire committee if it was asked for.

Post Office:
There was nothing former to report in the matter of a new Post Office being opened in the village.

Remembrance Service:
The council decided to hold the usual Armistice Day service at the War Memorial on the 1st November, 10.45am. Notices would be posted to advise the public. Councillor Watson was advised that a poppy wreath was usually donated.

Xmas Lights:
There would be no top-up Grant available this year for replacements or repairs to the present lights.

Next Meeting:
The next meeting would be held on 6th. November, 2008.
